Marble Cake Recipe
Description:
This marble cake is moist, fluffy, and full of rich cacao flavor. Here's how to make it. I usually make the cake using half the quantities from the recipe (simply halving each ingredient).

Ingredients
2 cups (236g) cake flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
½ cup (100g) light brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs, room temperature
4 large egg yolks, room temperature
1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
⅔ cup (160ml) buttermilk, room temperature
4 oz (113g) bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
Instructions
Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
Mix the Dry Ingredients: Sift together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
Make the Batter: Beat butter until creamy (1 minute). Add sugars and beat until light (3–4 minutes). Add eggs and yolks one at a time, then vanilla. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry mix. Do not overmix.
Marble the Batter: Melt chocolate until smooth. Remove 1 cup of batter, mix it with the melted chocolate. Layer the yellow batter and chocolate batter in the pans. Swirl with a knife for a marble effect.
Bake: Bake for 22–27 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
Serve & Store: Store at room temperature for 2–3 days or in the fridge for up to 5 days.
